Why is this exercise necessary for your holistic preparation? Remind yourself every day. (I do the same)

• PYQs linkage: PYQs gives direction to your preparation. You get know how questions have been framed, how themes are being repeated, how different dimensions have been expanded. This is a lighthouse for your preparation journey.
• Theory application: theory is explanation of political phenomena, political events, political actions and all those aspects of our lives which can be termed as “political”. It tries to unfold the mysteries surrounding upon the political life. It adds a particular meaning to a political phenomenon; it also questions the other meanings given to it by other theorist. Thus, theory gives an academic expression to political ideas. When you come across any political news, it must have any theoretical explanation. Now it is our responsibility, being a student of PSIR, to unearth those theoretical dimensions. 
• Concepts and keywords: (why should I know concepts and keywords? Because conceptual clarity makes you understand things and empower you to put things, events or content into a proper perspective. Keywords help you enrich the language you use for your answers. Daily exposing yourself to these concepts, keywords and questions will bring clarity to you about what exactly you need to do)

• Important facts: facts are important for bringing substance in your answer. It shows empirical dimensions of your arguments. It supplements your answers with concreteness. When you orient your mind for integrating facts in your answers, you bring element of objectivity in your answer. This need constant revision of related facts. You should train yourself using these facts for enriching your answers consistently.
• Important quotes or statements: quotes and statements can be used while introducing and concluding your answers. It shows how widely you have read. When those quotes and statements have been accommodated and suitably placed in answer as per the demand of the question, half of your job is done. Well begun is half done or first impression is the last impression.
• Brief analysis and key points from the news or editorial: reading newspaper by you is necessary. No amount of editorial discussion or news analysis (including the document I provide) going to help you unless you, yourself is going to read and comprehend the given text. The news analysis is to simplify things so that you can utilize your time for other productive tasks.
• Practice question (framed on the basis of PYQs dimensions): when you have gone through all the given dimensions, you have sufficient information at your disposal to act upon. Now what you need to do? Just write a question. And this is the biggest hurdle. We lack courage to act. We create several excuses for our inaction. Here all the requisite fodder has been provided to you. Now you left without any excuses. It is time to be responsible. It is time to act. Just take out paper and pen. Just write few lines. Then feel the magic of action. Take baby steps, consistency is going to give you massive dividends. Have faith and confidence in your abilities, you can do anything you decide to do, having a burning desire and focused action.
